Singin' in the rain...!!!
This was my best Reindeer Sessions show, and definitely the 5th. While the setlist was better for the 360 Tour in Chicago in the fall of 2009, this show was better overall, in my opinion. Originally supposed to occur in June of 2026, but due to Bono's back injury, was rescheduled for 7/23/11. The Minneapolis fans had A LOT of time to wait and let the anxiety build, so the boys did not disappoint!
The rain began to fall shortly after the show started, with some older tunes from Achtung Baby kicking things off. The atmosphere in the stadium was not killed by the rain. In fact, following the oppressive heat the Midwest endured for the past week, the fans seemed to welcome the cool summer shower. Bono and the Boys embraced the wetness and continued to rock out with a great mixture of old and new songs. Bono even attempted a few sing-a-longs with 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head', 'Singin' In the Rain', and 'Purple Rain'.
In conclusion, this was a spectacle of a rock and roll show that I will tell my children about. I just hope Reindeer Sessions doesn't wait another 6 years to tour!
